Strategist and Thought leader, Technical Professional, Advocate and Champion for the Development, Continuous Improvement, Harmonisation and Regional Integration of best practices in ICT and Telecommunications. As head of Communications and ICT at SADC Secretariat, Ms Mamelodi-Onyadile developed from scratch a Dynamic ICT Programme which under pinned the core values of Regional Integration and Development, and which laid a solid foundation for successful programme Implementation that saw SADC take a lead in the area of Telecommunications and ICT and the adoption of new technologies at a continental level. Her leadership saw to a number of successful projects and programmes at Regional Level including; Implementation of SADC Roadmap on Digital Broadcasting Migration, whose implementation was supported by a project management office and saw the Region having the highest number of Countries meeting the Migration deadline; SADC Home and Away Roaming, implemented in phases which saw a reduction in national Mobile and roaming Tariffs; Digital SADC 2027, an ICT Development Masterplan anchored on Projects across the following thematic areas of Infrastructure; Capacity Building and Content; e Services and Applications and Research, Innovation and Industry Development, this supported by the Cross-cutting issues of Confidence and Security of Networks and Services; and Policy and Regulatory Harmonisation; and the SADC ICT Ministers Declaration on 4th Industrial Revolution.
As a consultant and Senior Policy Advisor she has worked in the development of Strategy and Policy Documents, market research, advocacy; business leadership training and development. A Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) Graduate from the University of Cape Town, Ms Mamelodi-Onyadile’s Corporate Roles have included the establishment and setting up of Agencies, strategic planning and Analysis, corporate services including Finance and Accounting; Human resources and Procurement. As a leader she has a demonstrated ability to motivate, build and lead multifunctional and multi-disciplinary teams. She has worked for Botswana Telecommunications Authority (now known as BOCRA) as Manager Market Analysis; and Botswana Telecommunications Corporation as Head of Regulatory Affairs. She has previously served in the Boards of Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA) and Local Enterprises Authority (LEA) where she was chair of the Human Resource Committee at the inception of LEA.
